The times I provided above mark where the portion I chose for Best Edits is. It is a fight scene for the short film, Shadows of the Order.

In this fight, Agent Halcard, the enemy in black, attacks Seth, the jedi padawan, and defeats him without the need for a lightsaber.

 

Editing this fight was one of the most difficult creative endeavors I've taken on. For the editing particularly, the biggest challenge was maintaining a pace for the fight to communicate the urgency of a "surprise attack" or "beat down."
Seth, the jedi character is surprise attacked and I wanted to show that while he does have resilience, the fight is still pretty one-sided. As for Agent Halcard, the attacker, I wanted him to be mysterious and efficient. This is of course, a vision that runs in conjunction with the directors wishes, the choreography, and cinematography (done by me), but it was imperative to ensure that the editing harmonizes with the other departments.
